Commercial Sales Representative

I-XL Building Products has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Sales Representative to join our growing team in Calgary.

Overview

Reporting to the Commercial Channel Manager, this position will be responsible to maintain and grow commercial market share for the company. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of customer service and enjoy building rapport and nurturing long-term relationships with masons, general contractors, and architects both over the phone and in person. A background in retail sales/construction would be an asset. You are creative, outgoing, and professional with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Responsibilities

  • Provide material samples and specifications to clients in a timely manner
  • Provide accurate and timely quotes for projects while meeting or exceeding margin guidelines
  • Maintain accurate sales and opportunity funnel in the CRM
  • Provide problem solving solutions and after sale claim support
  • Nurture existing supplier relationships
  • Work closely with suppliers to obtain project pricing and delivery terms
  • Facilitate photography for marketing use of featured commercial projects
  • Attend Industry events to represent the organization and engage in other marketing/networking opportunities
  • Prepare for and participate in monthly branch sales meetings
  • Provide monthly sales forecasts to management
  • Participate in bi-weekly meetings with your manager
  • Organize and present Lunch & Learns and PK Sessions with new and existing clients
  • Present new product lines to new & existing clients
  • Prospect new commercial/architectural targets on a consistent basis

Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of retail sales experience in a similar environment is desired
  • Valid Driver’s License (leased vehicle is offered OR car allowance)
  • Experience within a busy logistics environment would be an asset
  • Excellent customer-first attitude—someone who enjoys people
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • CRM experience is desired
  • Excellent time management skills, sense of organization and ability to set priorities
  • Proven commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work
  • Self-motivated, professional team player
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude
  • Takes initiative, is proactive in their work, and results oriented
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
