I-XL Building Products has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Representative for our Dealer Channel and will join our growing team in Alberta.

Overview
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the sales and promotion of I-XL products to the dealer market throughout Alberta. They will be involved in all aspects of sales, including product introduction, continuous training, and assisting their customer in making the sale. Reporting to the Dealer Channel Manager – Western Canada, this position will be responsible for maintaining and growing the dealer market share for the company. The right candidate will demonstrate a high level of customer service and enjoy building rapport and nurturing long-term relationships with building supply stores, masons, and general contractors both over the phone and in person. A background in sales of construction or building products would be an asset.
The role is required to be 50% on the road visiting customers and 50% working from a home office with regular visits to the Calgary and Edmonton Branches.

Responsibilities
- Provide material samples and specifications to clients in a timely manner
- Provide accurate and timely quotes for projects while meeting or exceeding margin guidelines
- Maintain accurate sales and opportunity funnel in the CRM
- Provide problem solving solutions and after sale claim support
- Nurture existing supplier relationships
- Work closely with suppliers to obtain project pricing and delivery terms
- Attend Industry events to represent the organization and engage in other marketing/networking opportunities
- Prepare monthly sales forecasts and participate in monthly branch sales meetings
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings with your manager
- Organize and present PK Sessions for new and existing product lines with all clients
- Prospect new business on a consistent basis
- Building permanent displays at customer’s stores to best show the products
Skills & Qualifications
- University degree preferred
- 3-5 years of sales experience in sales of construction or building products is an asset
- Experience building displays is an asset
- Valid Driver’s License with clean abstract (leased vehicle is offered OR car allowance)
- Flexibility to travel the territory approximately two weeks of each month
- Ability to attend trade shows with variable hours
- Excellent customer-first attitude—someone who enjoys people
- Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM
- Excellent time management skills, sense of organization and ability to set priorities
- Proven commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, professional team player
- Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude
- Takes initiative, is proactive in their work, and results-oriented
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
